March 17, 2010 Minimum TOEFL requirements of the US Universities
Students frequently ask: what is the minimum Toefl score that is required by the universities?
Actually the answer is given on the University website you are applying for. Carefully check admission requirements. Most of the universities ask for 79-80 Toefl iBT score, at least. Once your scores satisfy this standard, you can collectedly take care on other parts of application.

The New School (Located in New York, USA):
The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score report administered by the Educational Testing Service (ETS) is required of all applicants who are not U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents with the exception of citizens of the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, or South Africa whose native language is English. The TOEFL score report must be submitted directly to The New School by ETS. The institution code for The New School is 2521; the department code is 83. A minimum score of 100 on the iBT, 250 on the computer-based exam, or 600 on the paper-based exam is required for admission to graduate study.
George Mason University English Language Requirements:
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): A minimum score of 88 or higher with a minimum of 20 on each subsection on the internet-based exam, 230 or higher on the computer-based exam, and 570 or higher on the paper-base exam. Scores must be sent directly to Mason from ETS and can not be more than two years old. Our testing code is 5827. Some academic departments may require a higher score. Please be sure to verify minimum test score requirements with your academic program.
